This document summarizes the mains findings of research on SDG 16 interlinkages, that is, on how progress on SDG 16 can affect progress on other SDGs.

Must read

This is a summary of findings from a systematic review of literature jointly conducted by UNDP’s Oslo Governance Centre and the German Development Institute (DIE) that looks at the impact of selected SDG 16 targets (transparency, accountability and inclusive participation) on poverty reduction and reduced inequalities.

In the context of this research, ‘SDG 16 interlinkages’ refers to the potential of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Inclusion) to help or hinder progress on other SDGs (SDG 16 → other SDGs).

The research question is thus: “What is the evidence that progress (or lack thereof) on governance aspects of SDG 16 impacts upon the achievement of poverty reduction (SDG 1) and reduced inequalities (SDG 10)?”

This document summarizes the mains findings of research on SDG 16 interlinkages, i.e., on how progress on SDG 16 can affect progress on other SDGs.
